Review: "(...) the last work on the program is a piece by a young Dutch composer who manifests herself as one of the most self-willed talents, that makes highly original things with a lot of refinement and sense of proportions: Mayke Nas. She wrote now here, and that 'now' is placed between brackets, so you can also easily read it as nowhere. It is a work that she wrote in 2004. There is stamping of one's feet. There are percussive effects. The rhythm of the 'Sacre du Printemps' by Stravinsky is recognisable now and then. It is playful and whimsical music that draws the attention in a very inventive and funny way, without becoming silly."

(now)here is an attempt to make an uncivilised piece, a piece where civilisation is nowhere to be found. But since modernmusicmaking is such a civilizing venture, civilisation is unavoidably here, now.
